ENWL are developing strategic locations for the storage of supplies required by engineers for power outage emergencies. Here the feasibility study demonstrated a location adjacent to the M6 junction would provide improved connectivity for the engineers working 24/7. In addition to the storage a range of materials, basic accommodation for short stay has been established including welfare facilities, washing and drying room, security systems and CCTV.

ENWL connects 2.4m properties, managing over 13,000km of overhead lines, 44,000km of underground cables and more than 34,000 transformers. With the population of the North West set to grow by 10% over the next 25 years ENWL are investing the money from customer bills back into the network.
